Sunday was my day I decided. My day to play with some paint and do some stenciling. So after a lovely all you can eat buffet breakfast, and a bit of a lay about to let my stuffed heart burning belly recover, I went and got all my supplies ready, after I had everything since the last time.

Nope I did not! No contact paper! ( Freezer paper is to much a pain to track down here!). I eventually settled with a glue stick smudge around the edges and did it on some Op shop onesies so I could just test it out.

Not happy with the final results. Slight bleeding around the edges and I didnt press hard enough in places so I could avoid more bleeding so it just does not look right. Oh well.

Then I tried my hand at some iron on applique, meh, Hopefully the embroidery I still have to add will help.

( a blurry shot of the image I chose)

Then I remembered I had Image transfer goo, I chose a really cute picture of a donkey with Ice cream from a chipmunks ( not the Alvin style – retro golden book style). Whist wiping of the paper off the next day the prints colours bleed over the edges and now it has framed the print with muck.

The only thing I was remotely happy with was these teeny tiny pair of jammie shorts I  tried from a japenese pattern I found online. This is just in tester fabric, from some I have to make sheets in so I didn’t try to match it up, but I don’t mind it as summer pjs for when Kook is a bit bigger. thinking of doing a matching singlet with applique square that has the bunny in it

So next time, contact and t-shirt transfers.

Today much happier though, did some writing I was happy with in my course and am working on a sweet little headband for a little girl, and a couple for me to put in the hospital bag.

Please excuse my lazy arse pregnant woman’s break. I have been far to lazy to get off my bum lately, plus we had school holidays in there. Even made it to the beach in them!

I have done a couple of little pieces though

a few cards for friends and family

A doll for a special little friend from playgroup. from this link

I made a few tiny changes and used a soft minkee on the back esp for hugging by this very cute one year old.

A teddy go round   (Rav link) in progress for Mr Kooka Belly ( Cooper Travis) who is causing his mum great heart burn at the moment, cant wait till he comes to meet us! Im making it a bit bigger then the pattern, but enjoying the mindlessness of granny squares and loving how they are working up in this colour. Planning white/cream bear heads.

and part of a maternity dress which has been laying around waiting fro more detail attention then I feel like giving it right now.

Am planning a summer hat along for Tyler with this lovely woman. and her son and hopefully another new friend though I think she is blogless.

In other news Hubby was in a band comp heat last night and they made it through to the next round, and my mumma is coming back from France soon fro a visit, hopefully with a copy of Sew Hip that I’m forcing my sister to bring to her from the UK where she lives ( my family likes disappearing on me, my brother has just taken off in a van with his girlfriend heading around Australia!)

Tomorrow is my second writing class. All week Josh has been saying do you want to do our homework together Mum?

He finds it amazing that I have homework as well, and keeps asking what I have to do. He likes the idea that my home work is writing a  story and doing some drawings.

Speaking of stories. Josh has been writing the most amazing story. It is a chapter story called

Quest to Save the World

It is about Tyler and Joshua fighting all these bad things ( dragons, giants, grizzly bears – they started to fight the polar bear but stopped in time so they could ride it instead.) to save the castle.

No sewing got done last week. I have been incredibly slack and still haven’t sewn his library bag, so I’m going to try and sneak it in between getting home tomorrow and Tyler getting home from Nan and pops. Wish me luck. I also want to do http://blog.creativekismet.com/2007/10/27/pillowcase-tote-tutorial/

It will be perfect for carrying my writing books.

A wonderful friend of mine is having a baby ( yes I’m totally jealous, but after 17 months am beginning to accept reality). We met on the train, when pregnant with our first children ( now almost 9!), and then when we bumped into each other at our hospital appointments it was on. This will be her second baby, and her husbands first. As these are people who will appreciate any handmade stuff I do for the bubs, I’m letting my self plan like crazy.

I’m thinking

very cute crochet booties

the cutest knit booties in the world

I got my shade card in the mail from ozeyarn, and so am touching and dreaming what they will all look like.
